Quiltmaking 101 - 2 part class

Learn the basics of quilt making in this 2-part class.  You will learn about fabric characteristics, threads, needles and rotary cutting.  You will learn to make squares and half square triangles to make a wall hanging consisting of using a quick cutting and chain stitching method which includes adding a border.  Discussion will also touch on finishing techniques for this project.  Students should be familiar with their sewing machine to take this class.  These new dates will help with those who have scheduling issues with our two-part class and convenient for those who may travel a long distance to take this beginner's quilt class!  In the morning, you will discuss tools and fabrics.  You will then take a short break for lunch and get back to it with learning how to cut your fabrics with a rotary cutter.  Two weeks later, you will meet again and piece your blocks into a quilt top.  After lunch, you will finish your quilt top with adding the borders.  $75
