In our Beginning Machine Piecing class, students learn to make these Double Four Patch blocks then create a row with them. In this quilt, the Double Four Patch blocks make up the whole quilt along with plain alternate squares. Eunice's quilt is pretty big (and pretty too!) but you can make yours smaller if you'd like. She will help you work out the size and get you going. Eunice's quilt is scrappy, but yours can be scrappy or planned with your favorite fabrics. The Double Four Patch block is a good one for keeping your seam allowance in check, giving you plenty of "practice makes perfect."
