Charitable Sewing we help with...

Currently Ohio Star Quilts supports several organizations with charitable sewing and quilting donations.

If you are interested in helping with these volunteer opportunities, we would love to tell you more about how you can get involved!

PILLOWCASES:

We collect and donate homemade pillowcases for the Oncology Department at Akron Children's Hospital.  These sites offer instructions for various pillowcase designs.

QUILTS OF VALOR:
A group of our stitchers, led by our teacher, veteran Jeanne Peterson, helps with quilt tops for Quilts of Valor.

PRISON SEWING OPPORTUNITIES:
Unwanted but useable craft items, fabric and unfinished projects and quilting supplies are collected for several area prisons that offer sewing programs for rehabilitation.  With the donated items, the inmates make projects to fulfill requests from various State of Ohio agencies.

PROJECT LINUS QUILTS:
Many quilts are donated each month by our quilting friends to Project Linus, which provides quilts, afghans and blankets to children in crisis and need.
